Located in Jianyang City, Sichuan Province, China, the Jianyang Donglai Impression covers a total land area of approximately 450 mu, with a construction area of about 198,000 square meters. The project strives to create a space that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region while providing a modern and functional environment for citizens.
The cultural hall of the center features hollow LOW-EB glass with varying thicknesses, allowing for better sound insulation, lighting performance, and thermal insulation. This not only enhances the overall experience but also contributes to energy conservation. The multi-functional hall utilizes reflectors and sound speakers to create a uniform sound field and optimal sound effects.
The design of the Jianyang Donglai Impression draws inspiration from the texture of the stone road, folding fans, and famous embroidery patterns. These elements are incorporated to reflect the cultural significance and create a sense of depth within the space. The art gallery, on the other hand, utilizes white paper and bamboo to express simplicity and purity, encouraging visitors to explore art without limitations.
The museum space within the cultural center abstractly represents pastoral scenery and traditional Chinese auspicious patterns, symbolizing endless ideas and cultural inheritance. By extracting cultural symbols and integrating them into the spatial design, the Jianyang Donglai Impression creates a unique and immersive experience that resonates with visitors.
The project design for the Jianyang Donglai Impression began in April 2019 and was completed in December 2019. The construction was finished in May 2022, marking the realization of this remarkable cultural center in Jianyang, Sichuan. The design process involved overcoming challenges in expressing the tension between space and cultural elements, ultimately achieving a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
The Jianyang Donglai Impression has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This award acknowledges the project's incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
